Elon Musk’s Major Donation to Pro-Trump Senate Candidate
Elon Musk has made a significant contribution to a super PAC supporting Nate Morris, a Republican candidate for the Kentucky Senate, marking the largest donation announced for the 2026 mid-cycle campaign.
According to reports, Musk was drawn to Morris after a recent conversation, particularly impressed by his business experience and commitment to an anti-establishment agenda. Morris, who founded Rubicon—a major waste and recycling firm—started his venture back in 2008 with just a $10,000 loan.
Musk noted that even though Morris is positioning himself as an anti-Mitch McConnell candidate, he faces competition from Rep. Andy Barr and former Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who are aligned with McConnell.
Morris has a personal connection with Vice President J.D. Vance, who also has ties to Musk.
The contributions to the super PAC came shortly after Barr stated that the Senate race is essentially between him and Morris, emphasizing their resources to succeed.
In a recent interview, Morris criticized McConnell, calling him a prime example of everything wrong with politics today and advocating for restrictions on career politicians. He expressed frustration, suggesting that if similar actions occurred in the private sector, it would likely lead to retirement for those involved.
Morris argued that McConnell’s long tenure in office, extending over 40 years, has disconnected him from current realities, such as the evolution of the internet. He feels that such long-standing politicians fail to understand contemporary issues.
He believes that McConnell represents the worst of Washington, D.C., and advocates for the need to replace career politicians with fresh perspectives, particularly from business backgrounds.
