Former Fulton County Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade left the Capitol on Tuesday after a marathon four-and-a-half hour pursuit by House Judiciary Committee investigators.
Wade's legal team, which also includes former Georgia Gov. Roy Burns, said little to reporters before, during and after the closed-door deposition. No members were seen entering or leaving the room.
“All I want to say is this: We testified, we cooperated, and we're done,” Burns told reporters after the session.

Burns said “yes” when asked if it was an effective meeting and “no” when asked by Fox News Digital if he planned to follow up with the committee.
Earlier, when a reporter asked if Mr. Wade would plead the Fifth Amendment, he provocatively replied, “What crime was committed here?”
The House Judiciary Committee is seeking information about Wade's relationship with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is investigating former President Trump's attempts to overturn his loss in the 2020 Georgia election. are. Wade joined the investigation as a special prosecutor by Willis, but resigned when it became clear that Wade and Willis had entered into a romantic relationship, which subsequently ended.

In a pair of letters released Monday night by the committee's Republican majority, Willis said Wade was instructed “not to answer any questions about his role in the election interference case or the evidence in the case.” said that he had done so.
“Disclosure of such evidence could also interfere with ongoing litigation; it is legally considered privileged and is not subject to disclosure,” Willis wrote.

Willis and Wade both maintain that their relationships have nothing to do with the case and accused Republicans of trying to unfairly interfere in the Fulton County investigation.

One of Trump's co-defendants had filed a lawsuit seeking to be barred from the case, arguing that Willis and Wade's relationship constituted a conflict of interest and that they benefited financially from the investigation. denies this.
