A Minnesota-based candy company is recalling its products sold nationwide because the box did not say the delicious treat contained nuts. This poses a dangerous health risk to consumers with allergies.

Abdalla Candies announced in a notice posted by the Food and Drug Administration that it is recalling 8-ounce boxes of Sea Salt Almond Alligator with chocolate-covered cherry labels and code 0315 on the bottom.
“People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds may be at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the recall states.
This mislabeling resulted in the affected boxes containing an undeclared ingredient, almonds, which can cause anaphylaxis, a potentially fatal condition in people with tree nut allergies. The candy company said the boxes with the labels were distributed nationwide between March 1st and March 29th.
“The bottom of the product box has a chocolate-covered cherry label with code 0315,” the company’s announcement said. “The box contains sea salt almond alligator, but the ingredients are listed incorrectly.”
“Although Sea Salt Almond Crocodile contains almonds as an ingredient, it was not listed on the ingredients label,” it continues. “People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds may be at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), food allergies are a growing public health concern with food safety concerns affecting 6% of adults and nearly 8% of children. I am.
