Navy deploys another Houthi-fighting warship to new US southern border mission

The Navy recently deployed another warship that successfully repeled multiple Iran-backed Houthi attacks to secure a southern border.

Following President Donald Trump's recent executive order, USS Stockdale, the Arleigh Burke Class Guided Missile Desturer, left San Diego Naval Base on Friday.

The executive order included a nationwide emergency declaration and clarification of the military's role in protecting US territorial protection.

“The Stockdale departure will strengthen the Navy's role in the Department of Defense's coordinated efforts, according to a Navy statement.”

The ship will continue to operate with the separation of the U.S. Coast Guard law enforcement agencies that have embarked on.

In February, Stockdale returned to San Diego after seven months of independent deployment into the US 3rd, 5th Fleet and 7th Fleet area.

He joined the Abraham Lincoln Career Strike Group and remained in the 5th Fleet after Aveksch's departure.

While in the 5th Fleet, Stockdale “successfully repels multiple Iran-supported Hooty attacks and escorts the operations of US-class vessels in the Gulf of Aden during transport in the Babu-el-Mandeb Straits.

Officials also attacked and defeated an airship cruise missile that was not condemned to one-way attack.

The use of Trump warships for border enforcement makes for “smart” use of military power, experts say

Stockdale was not affected and its staff were not injured.

Stockdale replaces USS Spruance and joins USS to Gruagely. This will take part in another Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer sent to the border in March, Fox News Digital reported earlier.

“As the DOD's lead in implementing border-related executive orders, USNORTHCOM continues to support key homeland security capabilities gaps, and Stockdale is making a significant contribution to these efforts,” the Navy said.
