NBA star Charles Barkley states he won't 'destroy every relationship' like Aaron Rodgers while thinking about retirement

Charles Barkley Discusses Retirement Plans

Charles Barkley is contemplating an end to his television career soon, and he definitely doesn’t want to follow the same path as Aaron Rodgers in his farewell tour.

In a recent chat on SiriusXM, the 11-time NBA All-Star and Hall of Fame inductee chuckled at the idea of being compared to the veteran quarterback’s tumultuous send-off. He said, “I’m not gonna bury everybody going out the door like Aaron. I’m not gonna burn every bridge and talk bad about all my exes on my way out the door like he’s doing.” It’s pretty clear Barkley is not a fan of Rodgers’ approach.

Barkley also commented on Rodgers’ recent appearance on the podcast Not Just Football, where the quarterback opened up about his strained family relationships. This included grievances with his parents and brothers, highlighting a decade’s worth of tension that became public during Jordan’s stint on The Bachelorette in 2016, which led to a series of family disputes and strained gatherings.

Having spent 25 years on television, Barkley’s reputation hinges on his straightforwardness and candid takes. Meanwhile, Rodgers is in his 22nd NFL season and many, including myself, speculate he might finally retire once the current season concludes.

Interestingly, Barkley’s hints about retirement are often taken with a grain of skepticism, as many doubt he will actually follow through with it after teasing about it for years. However, after a significant stint in media, he has emphasized that his exit will focus on gratitude instead of grievances.
