NCAA Tournament expanding would ruin a perfect product

North Carolina will be safely played in the NCAA Tournament despite a mediocre 15-11 record. The same goes for the undefeated QUAD-1 Game SMU, which fell up and down Kansas.

That's what the NCAA Tournament looks like. It is obviously necessary force to expand the field with eight run teams and add schools that do not belong to.

ESPN reported on Saturday that if an expansion is agreed, the scenario will advance from 68 teams to 76 teams and have been discussing the possibility with media partners for some time. There's nothing definitive about this, but it seems to be heading in the wrong direction. Last year there were too many powerful commissioners who were pushing this publicly by powerful commissioners like Greg Sankey of the SEC and Tony Pettitty of the Big Ten. NCAA president Charlie Baker said in December that there was ongoing consultation to add to the current 68-team format, and that it was “bullying” by expanding it with either four or eight teams.

Dan Gabitt, senior vice president of basketball at the NCAA, said he has more interest in expanding than he has worked in the sports body in the past 12 years. However, the decision is not imminent.
