‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ star Vanessa Lachey says she’s ‘gutted’ over show’s cancellation

Vanessa Lachey expressed shock and regret over the cancellation of her show “NCIS: Hawaii.”

The 43-year-old actress stars as Special Agent Jane Tennant in the Hawaii-based NCIS spinoff, making history as the series’ first female lead when it premiered in 2021.

On Friday, news broke that NCIS: Hawaii, which is currently airing Season 3, will not be returning for Season 4. Lachey shared his own reaction in a post on his Instagram Story Friday night.

“Devastated, confused and blindsided,” Lachey wrote on an image of the “NCIS: Hawaii” logo.

“Thank you, confident, and beloved fans!” she continued. “I’m still with my family as I process this news. I love you all!”

Antoon, who played the role of cyber intelligence specialist Ernie Malik, shared a news article about the cancellation in an Instagram post, writing, “This business is cruel and it makes no sense. But we had so much fun. Everyone. I love you and mahalo,” he wrote.

Mills, who played Tennant’s second-in-command Jesse Boone, wrote, “So much fun!” on a photo of a Hawaiian sunset.

He continued, “I’m going to miss working on this show so much. I’m incredibly grateful for the memories and for the wonderful people of Oahu, Hawaii, who we visited and… Live, play, work and grow in such a special place.”

Tarrant, who played NCIS Agent Kai Holman, simply posted a heartbroken emoji to X.
