NCIS: Suspects Drive Vehicle Loaded with Drugs Through Military Base Entrance

Two Suspects Arrested After Crash at Camp Pendleton

Two individuals have been apprehended following an incident in which they crashed their car through a gate at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in California.

Authorities reported that the suspects initially evaded local police, drove through the base’s entrance, and later abandoned their vehicle in a nearby military housing area before escaping on foot.

An investigation ensued, leading to their capture. A search of the abandoned vehicle uncovered illegal drugs.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) indicated that various federal, state, and local agencies aided in the response. Due to safety concerns, a temporary evacuation order was enacted for those on base.

“A large-scale search operation lasting six hours was conducted. NCIS deployed around 30 personnel, utilizing real-time information and tracking capabilities to assist in locating the suspects,” as detailed in an NCIS announcement.

In total, over 110 pounds of cocaine and fentanyl were found in the suspects’ abandoned car.

NCIS expressed gratitude to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, local authorities, and numerous responding agencies for their collaborative efforts to enhance security at military installations.

As of now, little information is available regarding the identities of the suspects or the specific charges they might face related to this incident. Interestingly, reports indicate that the FBI seized enough fentanyl recently to potentially endanger millions of Americans.

In another note, the discussion around drug enforcement has intensified, particularly under the last administration, with significant measures taken to combat the trafficking of fentanyl into the U.S.
