Nearly 30 Percent of Gen Z Women Identify as LGBTQ, Survey Finds

According to the new gallup Research shows that more than one in five Gen Zers currently identify as LGBT, with nearly 30% of women falling into that category.

“Nearly 30% of Gen Z women identify as LGBTQ+, and most are bisexual,” said Jeffrey Jones, senior editor at Gallup. NBC News.

According to the report, about 22 percent of young people ages 18 to 26 identify as LGBT, which is higher than nearly one in 10 millennials (ages 27 to 42) who fall into the same category. This is a high percentage. This rate is lower than for Generation X (5 percent), Baby Boomers (2 percent), and the Silent Generation (1 percent).

Overall, 7.6 percent of adults identified as part of the LGBT community in 2023, and just over 85 percent of those surveyed identified as straight.

Jones noted that much of the increase is being led by Gen Z women who identify as bisexual.

“That’s where a lot of the growth seems to be happening,” he said.

In early 2023, the CDC released Materials that encourage public school educators and administrators to join the LGBT cause for the purpose of inclusivity. The agency alsoself-assessment tool” so that school officials can see how well they support sexual minorities. However, many families oppose promoting this idea.

In mid-February, two Indiana parents petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to hold the Hoosier state accountable for removing their gender-confused son from their home because of Biblical beliefs about sexuality and gender identity.

Last month, Mary and Jeremy Cox It has been submitted Reconsidering the legality of Indiana’s decision to disenfranchise and remove her son, who identifies as a transgender girl, from her home because she refused to use a female name or pronouns when addressing herself. A certiorari writ petition asking the court to do so. I mean my child.

The removal came after the Indiana Department of Children’s Services began an investigation into the parents in June 2021.

“At this point, we feel that this child, like all things transgender, needs to be placed in a home that doesn’t teach her that she’s transgender…how she should think. , tell me how I should feel.” But she deserves to be in a family that accepts her for who she is, state officials insisted of the Coxes’ son.

“If this can happen in Indiana, it can happen anywhere,” said Lori Windham of the Beckett Law Firm, who is representing the couple. “Separating children from their loving parents because of religious beliefs shared by millions of Americans is an outrage against the law, parental rights, and basic human decency.”
