Despite the apparent lack of enthusiasm, Democrats are forging ahead, selecting Harris as their candidate without the help of actual voters. The decision was made official on Friday, when the Democratic National Committee (DNC) nominated Harris. Harris was the only eligible candidate to receive a vote, losing the support of 14 million Democratic voters in the process.
“I am honored to be the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee for president of the United States,” Harris said. Said “And I want to say that the tireless work of our delegation, state leaders and staff has been crucial in making this moment possible.”
The survey was conducted among 1,610 U.S. adults from July 27-30, 2024. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.
