Need to Change Districts Like Ohio's to Retain the House

Conroy Aims to Flip Ohio’s 1st Congressional District

Eric Conroy, an Air Force veteran and former intelligence officer, is looking to transform Ohio’s 1st Congressional District into a Republican stronghold, aiming to prevent any attempts to impeach President Donald Trump.

Supported by Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), Conroy’s goal is to unseat the current two-term representative, Greg Landsman (D-Ohio). The recent redistricting of the 1st Congressional District, which encompasses Cincinnati and some nearby areas, has been made to benefit Republicans slightly more than Democrats.

On a recent segment of Breitbart News Saturday, Conroy emphasized the importance of the race, stating that the district stands as “one of the few flippable districts in the country.” He noted that removing left-wing Democrats from Congress is not only significant for this race but also pivotal on a national level.

He further remarked that winning battleground areas like the 1st District is essential for Republicans if they want to “avoid impeachment of Donald Trump and maintain control of the House.”

Conroy praised Sen. Moreno, calling him a vital figure in Ohio’s Republican landscape, and acknowledged his support in this endeavor, mentioning, “He knows the important nature of this race.” He also pointed out that his campaign is well-funded, emphasizing their qualifications to succeed.

Regarding Landsman, Conroy expressed skepticism about his moderate image, asserting, “He’s not the moderate he claims to be.” He argued that Landsman often presents himself as a centrist while voting in alignment with the Democratic agenda nearly 98 percent of the time, likening him to figures like AOC and Nancy Pelosi.

Conroy, who grew up in Cincinnati and attended the Air Force Academy, views his congressional bid as a continuation of his service to his community. “I want to continue my service work,” he said, seeing this run as a natural progression in serving his hometown.
