Neighbor of slain NJ therapist shares final interaction with missing husband James Hanlon

Investigation Ongoing After Chester Woman Found Dead

Brooke Hanlon, 35, was discovered stabbed in her Chester, New Jersey home, and her husband has not been seen or heard from in weeks.

Brooke’s sister, Paige Haggerty, has spoken out about the tragedy during an exclusive interview, though she chose not to comment on her brother-in-law’s whereabouts.

Records indicate that 36-year-old James “Connor” Hanlon grew up in the Brighton area of Boston, Massachusetts.

Authorities were alerted to the couple’s residence on June 6 following a 911 call. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office later stated that Brooke’s death was a homicide resulting from multiple sharp force injuries.

A neighbor mentioned recent activity around the Hanlon household, noting, “I’ve talked to Connor a few times, mostly through email. He would text me if there was a bear nearby.” They had been communicating about local bears in the days leading up to Brooke’s death.

“Actually, we exchanged emails just the other day regarding a bear in the trash. That’s the last time I heard from him,” the neighbor added.

In the wake of the incident, it appears that the Hanlon home may need to be vacated, as observed by officials.

A white SUV with New Jersey plates, similar to one previously seen at the couple’s location, was spotted by FOX News in Boston.

Worried about the police presence, the neighbor reached out to Connor, texting him about the situation. Unfortunately, he did not respond.

Prosecutors have not disclosed who made the 911 call on that day, nor details about who may have been at home when the incident occurred, including whether Connor and their child were present.

Haggerty mentioned that their baby is being cared for by family, but she did not provide further details.

Court records show that Connor has no previous arrests or criminal record and has yet to be charged with any crime.

Authorities have not identified any suspects or persons of interest at this time.

“We’re focusing on preserving her legacy. It’s hard to believe Brooke’s life ended so violently and tragically,” Haggerty reflected on her sister’s death.

A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information related to the case.

Attempts to reach Connor Hanlon were unsuccessful, and it’s unclear if he has obtained legal representation.
