Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated President-elect Donald Trump early Wednesday, calling his landslide victory in the 2024 election “the greatest comeback in history.”
In a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara, one of the first, if not the first, world leaders to congratulate President Trump, offered their congratulations:

Your historic return to the White House brings a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to America's great alliance with Israel.

Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump had a close relationship during Trump's first term, but Trump congratulated Joe Biden on his victory in the 2020 election, which Trump thought he had won. This angered Prime Minister Netanyahu. The two men repaired their relationship during the 2024 election campaign.
Like Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu returned to politics after being forced from power in controversial circumstances and subject to investigation and prosecution by his political opponents.
Trump's victory is a big victory for Netanyahu and for Israel. Polls show that two-thirds of Israelis want Trump to win.
While President Trump is expected to give Israel a free hand in dealing with its enemies, he has also promised to end the wars in Lebanon and Gaza, and Prime Minister Netanyahu has warned that Trump will appeal to Arab and Muslim voters. I am certainly aware of the promises I made to them.
The result could be a major peace deal early in President Trump's upcoming second term, benefiting all parties involved.
