Netanyahu Denied Harris Ability to Run on Ceasefire ‘by Design’

On Wednesday's MSNBC show “Alex Wagner Tonight,” MSNBC host Ayman Mohieldin reacted to the ceasefire and hostage release agreement, saying that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said “eight months ago, before the U.S. elections. “We could have delivered this victory to Joe Biden eight months ago.” The Democratic vice presidential candidate for the United States may have been running based on the ceasefire agreement. He didn't do that. And he didn't do it intentionally. ” and “Behind the scenes, the Israeli Prime Minister, in the future, [are] It will likely be a tip that will be cashed in with the Trump administration. ”

Mohieldin said: [relevant remarks begin around 12:30] “We are rightly focused on what President Trump has brought to this equation with the ceasefire agreement. Also important to note is that in recent months, the Israeli prime minister I think it's about what he did to get here. Benjamin Netanyahu is a shrewd and smart politician. There's no denying that. He could have given Joe Biden this victory before the US election, in which the Democratic Party's US vice presidential candidate could run under the Ceasefire Agreement. They didn't do it intentionally, they didn't just sit there and say the deal wasn't good. Nothing has changed dramatically in the last eight months.”

He continued: “So what I'm saying is that behind the scenes, the Israeli prime minister, in the future, [are] It will likely be a tip that will be cashed in with the Trump administration. Now, is it a desire to annex the West Bank? Is it a desire to repopulate northern Gaza with Israeli settlers? Would it be an attack on Iran, and would an attack on Iran require American military intervention and direct military support for Israel? And all of these factors are now being used by the Israeli prime minister against the Donald Trump administration to say, “Hey, look, we gave you a victory on day one, we released the hostages, we got this deal.'' It is now possible to say “I have tied the knot.” . You all owe us a debt right now and are thinking about what we want to do about some of the issues across this region. ”
