Netanyahu Expresses Gratitude to Trump for His Backing

Netanyahu Commends Trump for Supporting Israel

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed gratitude toward President Donald Trump for his stance against what he described as a “political witch hunt” directed at undermining Israeli leadership. Netanyahu appreciated Trump’s endorsement of his vision to “make the Middle East great again.”

On Sunday, Netanyahu took to X to thank Trump, stating, “Together, we will make the Middle East great again!”

This sentiment mirrors Trump’s earlier slogans while he emphasized the need for stronger local leadership in Israel. The comments followed Trump’s post on Truth Social, where he criticized Israel’s judicial system and addressed Netanyahu’s ongoing trial.

Trump remarked, “It’s awful what they’re doing to Bibi Netanyahu in Israel. He is a war hero and the prime minister who has successfully worked with the United States to tackle the dangerous nuclear threat from Iran.”

Highlighting Netanyahu’s persistent efforts to secure the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas, Trump condemned the allegations against the Prime Minister. He stated, “The Israeli Prime Minister can sit in court all day, but the accusations are ridiculous.” He also cautioned that the legal issues could complicate diplomatic negotiations.

Trump noted, “This justice debacle will hinder negotiations with Iran and Hamas,” describing the actions of prosecutors as an “insanity.” He emphasized the significance of American support for Israel’s security, declaring, “We have no intentions of backing away from this.” He concluded by praising Netanyahu’s efforts and underscoring the importance of allowing him to continue his work.

These remarks come amid calls for Trump to advocate for the withdrawal of Netanyahu’s legal challenges, expressing concerns that such actions could jeopardize U.S.-Israel security collaboration and sensitive negotiations involving Iran and Hamas.

Recent reports indicated that Trump had urged Israeli prosecutors to reconsider the trial, highlighting that many charges appear to be unraveling.

This situation underscores a broader conservative critique of legal maneuvers against Western leaders and the implications such actions could have on stability in the Middle East.

On Sunday, an Israeli court postponed Netanyahu’s corruption trial for up to a week, shortly after Trump made his appeal to close the case.
