Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has proposed a new name for the ongoing war that Israel is facing starting October 7, 2023: “War of Reconstruction.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the proposal at a special meeting of his cabinet to mark the first anniversary of the October 7 attack. Until now, the official name of Israel's response was “Operation Iron Sword.”
After pointing out that Israel is imposing a price on its enemies that has never been experienced before, Netanyahu continued:
“We are at war, but we will win. From that dark day. [October 7]we have been fighting. This is a war for our survival, a “war of rebirth.'' I would like to request that you refer to this war as such in an official manner. ”
His remarks were broadcast in Hebrew in a video released by the Government Press Office, published Written by Enet. The Hebrew word used by Prime Minister Netanyahu isTechmar” has meanings such as “resurrection,” “revival,” and “rebirth.”
Several other names have been proposed for the war over the past year — the “October 7th War.” “Second War of Independence.” And so was even the “war without a name,” according to an Israeli Army Radio host.
Israel is fighting on seven fronts, facing Iranian-backed terrorist organizations and Iran itself.
For most Israelis, this war is an existential war, fought against terrorists and regimes determined to destroy the Jewish state.
