Netanyahu Responds to Disturbing Hamas Video

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reacted strongly to a newly released Hamas propaganda video. The footage reportedly shows 24-year-old Israeli hostage Eviyata David, who is seen digging what appears to be his own grave.

In his statement, Netanyahu emphasized, “There is no boundary to Hamas’ cruelty.” He pointed out that while Israel has facilitated humanitarian aid for Gaza residents, the actions of Hamas have been damaging—using hostages as tools of propaganda while denying them basic necessities. “They have deliberately starved hostages and documented it in a sarcastic manner,” he added.

Netanyahu expressed deep concern over the treatment of hostages in a conversation held on Saturday with both David’s family and another hostage’s family, that of Rom Braslavsky. His office conveyed that the prime minister is “shocked” by the materials released by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic jihadists. Netanyahu reassured the families, stating that efforts to secure the return of all hostages are being pursued relentlessly.

David’s family, in a statement released through the Hostage Family Forum, described the torture their loved one is enduring, claiming he has been “forced to see intentionally and cynically starving in the tunnels of Hamas in Gaza.” They called the situation a frightening act that the world should witness.

At a rally in Tel Aviv, David’s brother, Elay, spoke passionately about the dire situation. He claimed they are on “the brink of absolute death” due to severe starvation and described how Hamas is using Eviyata in calculated propaganda campaigns. “They are deliberately and systemically starving him,” Elay said, calling it a gross violation of basic human decency and international law.

With talks aimed at reaching a ceasefire stalling, tensions remain high. Recently, U.S. and Israeli negotiators pulled out of discussions in Doha, Qatar, focusing instead on the humanitarian plight of Gazans. Israeli Ambassador Mike Huckabee was seen meeting with Netanyahu and visiting food distribution centers in Gaza amid rising hunger issues.

As the situation continues to develop, questions linger about the next steps for hostages and the broader implications for humanitarian needs in the region.
