Netanyahu’s Stance on Iran’s Nuclear Threat
Following the initiation of Operation Raizinglion, which focuses on Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to take decisive action. He stated that Israel would continue to surprise Iran “as long as it is necessary,” rejecting the nuclear threat that looms and emphasizing the imperative to “Live Longer. Anywhere.”
Netanyahu framed this moment as a critical juncture in history, reflecting on both historical atrocities and current dangers. He recalled, “For decades, Tehranian tyrants have sought to destroy Israel, backing up threats of genocide with their nuclear weapons development. Recently, Iran has enriched uranium sufficient for nine atomic bombs.”
Recent intelligence suggests that Iran has made significant advances in weaponizing its uranium stockpile. Netanyahu cautioned that, without intervention, Iran could produce nuclear weapons in months—or even less than a year.
“This poses a clear and present danger to Israel’s survival,” he insisted. Drawing parallels to the past, he said, “Eighty years ago, Jews were victims of the Holocaust under the Nazi regime. Today, Jews refuse to be victims of a nuclear Holocaust at the hands of the Iranian regime.”
Reaffirming Israel’s longstanding security strategy, Netanyahu reiterated, “Israel will never allow those who wish to see our end develop the means to achieve that goal. Tonight, Israel supports these words with decisive action.”
The military offensive targeted key Iranian facilities, including:
- Iran’s primary uranium enrichment site in Natanz.
- Top Iranian nuclear scientist linked to bomb development.
- Iran’s ballistic missile programs, which may soon have nuclear capabilities.
Last year, Iran launched 300 ballistic missiles at Israel, each packed with explosives. Netanyahu warned that Iran’s accelerating missile program could easily equip these with nuclear payloads, creating an existential threat for millions.
He described a hypothetical scenario: “Imagine 10,000 tons of TNT impacting a nation the size of New Jersey. This is an unbearable threat that must be halted.”
In light of recent events, Netanyahu noted that previous strategies to encircle Israel with Iran’s “circling of fire” have failed. However, he stated that Israel has successfully countered Hamas, engaged Iranian proxies in Syria and Yemen, and even struck within Iran.
Netanyahu pointed out that neighboring Arab countries are equally facing Iran’s chaos and genocidal actions. He cited that Israel’s engagement with Iran’s proxy Hezbollah led to political changes in Lebanon and impacted the regime in Syria, which offers hope for those nations.
He reached out to the Iranian populace, emphasizing, “Our battle is not with you. It is with the oppressive regime that has suppressed you for 46 years. I look forward to the day of your liberation.”
He warned that Iran’s intent includes supplying nuclear weapons to terrorist proxies, raising the specter of nuclear terrorism. Netanyahu continued, saying that Iran’s missile program could extend the nuclear threat to Europe and, eventually, America.
Noting Iran’s longstanding hostility toward both Israel and the U.S., Netanyahu said, “Iran has referred to Israel as the ‘little Satan’ and America as the ‘great Satan’. For decades, Iran has chanted ‘Death to Israel’ and ‘Death to America.’ Today, Israel responds with our own calls: Long Live Israel.”
He also denounced Iran’s nuclear ambitions, stating he has made it clear that Iran should not have a nuclear enrichment program and praised past efforts, particularly by former President Donald Trump, to confront these ambitions.
Netanyahu called Israel to act promptly, declaring, “It is evident today that Iran is merely stalling and refuses to accept the fundamental requirements for peace. That’s why we must act — and we must act now.”
Reflecting on earlier reluctance to confront threats, he drew parallels to historical inaction against Hitler, which ultimately led to World War II, the most brutal conflict ever.
He concluded with a resolute promise that “after that war, Jews and the Jewish state vowed: Never again. Well, never again,” stressing that Israel’s actions are rooted in historical lessons. “When your enemy swears to destroy you, believe them. Stop them when they begin to develop weapons of mass destruction.”
Referencing biblical teachings, he reminded the Israelites of their responsibilities: “When someone comes to kill you, first stand up and act.”
“This is precisely what Israel has done today,” he asserted. “We rose like a lion to safeguard ourselves.”
Echoing Moses’ call to strength, Netanyahu urged resilience, stating, “From now on, history will remember our generation for acting in time to secure our shared future.” He ended with a strong message: “May God bless Israel; may God bless the forces of civilization everywhere.”
The operation continues, with Israeli forces engaged against additional Iranian military assets, amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
