Netflix Hiking Subscription Prices Again, Monthly Fees Soaring More than 15 Percent

Netflix subscription prices are rising faster than inflation, with entertainment streamers raising prices across the board, with some prices increasing by more than 15%. Even the ad-supported tiers are expensive, with Netflix charging subscribers more for the pleasure of watching commercials.

Netflix announced Tuesday that it will increase prices on all subscription levels starting with the next billing cycle.

Ad-supported inventory with commercials will increase from $6.99 to $7.99 per month (14%), and standard ad-free inventory will increase from $15.49 to $17.99 per month (16%).

The highest priced premium tier will also increase from $22.99 to $24.99 per month.

This is the first time Netflix has increased the price of its ad-supported slots, which it introduced in 2022.

Netflix's recent price increases are part of an industry-wide trend where streaming subscription prices are rising at a rate far faster than inflation. At the same time, streamers are introducing commercials as a way to increase revenue.

As reported by Breitbart News, YouTube TV customers were furious after the streamer announced it would raise prices by 13.7 percent in December, increasing subscription fees by $10 to $82.99 per month from $72.99. .

The price increase infuriated many longtime subscribers, some of whom remember when the live TV streaming service was just $35 a month a decade ago.
