Nevada teacher assistant accused of contacting child for sex

A Nevada teaching assistant has been arrested and charged with attempting to contact a minor for sexual purposes, authorities said.

According to reports, on August 23, Clark County School District Police arrested the teacher's assistant and booked her into the Clark County Detention Center. The suspect is believed to be a Clark County School District employee. The arrest reportedly occurred the same day the investigation began.

Since the child sex crimes allegations, the teaching assistant has been placed on administrative leave, per the terms of her union contract.

Jerusalem Garcia was reportedly charged with one count of contacting or attempting to contact a minor through a person of authority for sexual purposes.

According to KTNV TelevisionThe 20-year-old was working as a “specialized programs teacher assistant” at El Dorado High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Clark County School District police did not provide further details about the alleged sexual misconduct against children.

Garcia has reportedly been employed as an employee of the Clark County School District since August 2021. KLAS-TV.

Since the child sex crimes allegations, the teaching assistant has been placed on administrative leave, per the terms of her union contract.

The investigation into the teacher's alleged sex scandal is still ongoing.

As of publication time, the Clark County School District Police Department had not responded to The Blaze-News' request for comment.

Since May, The Blaze News has reported on 13 female teachers and school staff who have been accused or convicted of child sex offences.

In May, a former Arkansas teacher was sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison for transporting a student out of state to engage in illegal sex acts during the 2021-2022 school year, as well as sexually abusing a minor 30 times.

A female teacher at an “elite” New York City prep school where convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein once taught has been accused of sexually abusing students.

The special education teacher at a New Jersey middle school was arrested in June and charged with one count of first-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Last month, two former Georgia school officials were indicted on charges of sexually abusing students. The two described themselves as “together for life” friends and were involved in each other's weddings.

Earlier this month, a Connecticut middle school lunch attendant accused of sexually abusing and luring a 14-year-old boy accepted a plea deal to avoid a trial.
