Donald Trump's supporters have staunchly defended most of his cabinet choices, but some of the president-elect's nominees have been controversial on both sides of the aisle. Fox Nation takes a deep dive into each pick, even if it's controversial, in its latest episodic series, “The Cabinet.”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
President Trump's nominee for secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) has been controversial. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ran as an independent in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, but withdrew from the party on August 23 and announced his support for Trump. If confirmed by the Senate, RFK Jr. plans to reevaluate a number of health policies, from vaccines to ultra-processed foods. The effort explains Trump's viral motto, “Make America Healthy Again,” which sums up his ambitions in the administration.
RFK JR. said he plans to meet with Democrats to seek President Trump's confirmation as HHS secretary
FOX News contributor Charles Hart said of RFK Jr.'s endorsement, “It ended up giving this campaign a lot of credibility.”
“I don't think support usually matters that much,” he continued. “But I think RFK's endorsement of Trump made a big difference.”

Sen. marco rubio
During the 2016 Republican presidential primary, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, exchanged abuse and insults against Mr. Trump. But despite their differences, the two politicians worked together during President Trump's first term, and the Florida senator became known as a staunch supporter of the president. Rubio was nominated as U.S. Secretary of State in November and is awaiting confirmation from the Senate.
“He has a lot of the qualities that President Trump likes,” said Fox News contributor Miranda Devine. on an episode of Fox Nation. “He's just a good politician. He's soft-spoken and knows where the bodies are buried.”
Hart added that Rubio is “widely respected across the aisle” and that he expects to receive Democratic votes for Senate confirmation as well.

government kristi noem
Kristi Noem, the current governor of South Dakota, is President Trump's nominee for Secretary of Homeland Security. Despite not being a border state leader, she has repeatedly used state resources to help stem the flow of migrants illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. Noem's nomination came as a surprise to many, but Fox News contributor Ben Domenech said she is “someone who can be a go-between with Congress.”
Domenech added that she has the potential to be “a more traditional person in this role,” meaning she can build relationships with fellow Republicans.
