Chick-fil-A Introduces New Drinks and Retro Merchandise

Chick-fil-A has recently stirred up excitement among fans and employees with the launch of new drinks and “retro-inspired” merchandise. This announcement came on a January 5 release from the Atlanta-based fast food chain.

The chain will be adding frosted sodas and floats to its permanent menu. These drinks are, as noted, “handmade at Ice Dream,” their signature vanilla soft serve. So, guests can expect a creamy, smooth taste with a nostalgic vibe.

Three primary flavors will be available: Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, and Sprite, along with other options like Fanta, Powerade, Hi-C, and Barq’s Root Beer.

Beyond just frosted drinks, Chick-fil-A has kicked off a sweepstakes, inviting fans to participate in the Golden Fun Cup contest.

They’re also rolling out four collectible cup designs that harken back to Chick-fil-A’s previous looks. Priced at $3.99, these cups are part of a limited release of 3,000 Gold Fun Cups. Interestingly, if a customer buys a Classic Cup and ends up with a Gold Fun Cup, it translates to free Chick-fil-A food for an entire year.

This initiative is said to celebrate Chick-fil-A’s 80-year tradition. Kalila Cooper, the company’s vice president of brand strategy, mentioned that this anniversary isn’t just about a time span but also about celebrating the memories and moments that have brought people together.

As for reactions, posts on a Chick-fil-A-themed Reddit forum show some varied opinions about the new frosted sodas ahead of their launch. One user shared their enthusiasm, claiming, “Frosted Dr. Pepper is amazing.” Another looked forward to trying Hi-C, while someone else expressed a desire for more affordable options, stating, “Please lower the price a little more.”

Some commenters mentioned that these drinks were tested in Southern California and found them satisfactory, with one suggesting they’re reasonably priced. Yet, another wasn’t particularly impressed with the new designs, focusing instead on pricing: “I don’t care about packing. Please offer a lower price.”

Another user weighed in, “It’s not that bad, but for the same price, you can dine at a fast-casual restaurant and often get better food.” This sentiment of comparison seems to resonate with others, even those who said they work at Chick-fil-A, with one employee commenting on the complexities of making the new drinks.

In any case, while there’s certainly a buzz around these new offerings, the true test will be how they are received once they hit the menu.
