New Hampshire Senate Poll Reveals Close Results as Hillary Clinton Plans Visit

A recent survey of likely voters in New Hampshire reveals a competitive Senate race, with key Democratic figures re-entering state politics ahead of an important party event.

The Emerson College Poll indicates that, in a theoretical general election, Democratic Representative Chris Pappas leads former Republican Senator John Sununu by a slim margin of 45% to 44%. Additionally, Pappas shows a stronger lead against former Senator Scott Brown (R-S.C.), with a score of 48% to 39%.

In the Republican primary, the same poll shows Sununu with 48% support, while Brown is trailing at 19%. Brown has characterized this contest as critical, suggesting it might decide Senate control, and referred to the primary as “a complete dogfight” following Sununu’s entry.

Brown, focusing on grassroots efforts, stressed the importance of direct voter engagement, emphasizing that his approach is about “literally one vote at a time.” He has voiced concerns about Sununu’s long absence from state politics, noting that some voters confused Sununu with another family member, asking, “Who the hell is John?”

Hillary Clinton’s upcoming visit to New Hampshire will add a national element to the race. She is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s McIntyre Shaheen Dinner in Nashua on April 25th. This will mark her first public appearance in the state since 2019, having previously campaigned heavily there during her presidential runs, winning the Democratic primary in 2008 and finishing second in 2016.

Clinton’s organization, Onward Together, is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, enabling it to raise funds without revealing its donors. Recently, merchandise related to legal actions involving the Clintons has been sold, featuring the phrase “Keep insulting me until the cows come home.” During her testimony regarding Jeffrey Epstein, Clinton denied any knowledge of his criminal activities, stating she “never flew on Mr. Epstein’s plane or visited his island home or office.”
