A New Jersey man bludgeoned his mother to death after she tried to stop him from cutting off a tattoo on her leg, police said.
James Dolan, 30, was charged with the first-degree murder of his mother, with whom he lived. Dolan also faces more than a dozen misdemeanor and summary charges, including recklessly endangering another person, evading arrest and DUI, reckless driving and resisting arrest in Pennsylvania.

A judge denied Dolan’s bail because “the evidence is clear and there is a strong presumption that the defendant will not respond while on bail,” according to court documents.
Dolan is currently detained He is awaiting extradition to New Jersey at the Bedford County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania.
