HOUSTON – New photos taken by Fox News Digital provide a look inside Bourbon Street killer Shamsuddin Jabbar's home in Houston, Texas.

Photos of the interior of Jabbar's mobile home in a Muslim-majority area of ​​north Houston revealed multiple Korans, Christian books and books on teaching children about Islam.

Jabbar, 42, drove his white truck into a crowd of people celebrating New Year's in New Orleans around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, then began firing at law enforcement officers, who returned fire. Mr. Jabbar died at the scene. The rampage, which is being investigated as a terrorist attack, left 15 people dead, including Jabbar, and more than 30 injured.

Mr. Jabbar, who served in the U.S. military for 13 years, including one tour in Afghanistan, had an ISIS flag on his truck during the attack, which he said was his inspiration.

The FBI and the Houston SWAT team raided Jabbar's home early Thursday morning. The team left the front door off its hinges and pried it open, revealing most of the home's living room, kitchen, and part of the bedroom.

From outside his front porch, he could see Jabbar's living room left in disarray by law enforcement officers who had searched his home. Black suitcases were scattered on the floor, and a dartboard and fake fireplace could be seen on the other side of the wall.

Neighbors told FOX News Digital that Jabbar was a quiet, polite neighbor who was devoutly Muslim. His religious devotion seems to be confirmed by a bookshelf near the entrance, with several copies of the Koran, a book on Islam and one on Christianity.

On the other side of the house, Jabbar had a high desk with a computer, a can of pepper spray and several other items. A green military-style backpack was also placed near the kitchen.

Jabbar was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, and lived in a rented mobile home in Houston. The home is located in a neighborhood surrounded by several other mobile homes and RVs, and is about a 7-minute walk from Masjid Bilal Mosque and Darul Al-Qam Islamic School.

Most of the neighborhood is in a state of extreme disrepair, with dilapidated houses, parts of the road torn up, and trash and stray animals everywhere on the streets. Mr. Jabbar had several ducks and chickens wandering around in his garden, and a few goats in another nearby garden.

A neighbor, who requested anonymity, told Fox News Digital that he saw Jabbar loading items into a white pickup truck outside his Houston home on Dec. 31, the morning before the New Orleans attack. He said he was hit by a truck there. For the New Year's festivities. He said he spoke with Mr. Jabbar and was told he was planning to find a job and move to Louisiana. Neighbors said they assumed Jabbar had another job in the information technology field.

“He said he got a job in Louisiana that day,” the man said, describing how Jabbar was loading the truck with “not heavy stuff, very light stuff, whatever I had on hand.”

“The morning he moved out, I, as a neighbor, asked if he needed any help moving. 'Do you need any help moving?' He said, 'I'm fine.'” Neighbor told FOX News Digital.

Neighbors expressed disbelief when they learned that Jabbar had been charged in connection with the bloodbath on Bourbon Street.

“I was shocked, I was shocked. Someone grabbed the carpet under my feet. I was so shocked I couldn't believe it. 'Did this really happen?'” the man said. “Like I said, we still don't believe, and we still don't believe that that's who he is. It just can't happen.”
