New Orleans police believe a teenage girl who went missing from a group trip to a downtown museum may be a human trafficking victim.
New Orleans police told Fox News Digital that 14-year-old Crystal Chinchilla Canizares was in the custody of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) on May 22 while on a group trip to a museum in New Orleans’ central business district.
Police said Chinchilla Canizares “left the pack” at some point and hasn’t been seen since.
Investigators are concerned the 14-year-old may be a victim of human trafficking, but police have not said exactly why authorities have made that determination.
