New Poll Reveals Warning Signs For Harris Among Key Battleground State Demographic

Although Vice President Kamala Harris has a lead nationally, Democratic candidates are trailing former President Donald Trump among older voters, according to Tuesday's AARP poll.

In April, President Joe Biden had a similar 8-point disadvantage among voters 50 and older, according to the poll. Biden lost a 5-point lead to Trump in Pennsylvania, but Harris was able to regain that lead. According to polls, Harris has managed to hold onto a core constituency among voters under 50 in Pennsylvania, with a 14-point lead over Trump. But among those same voters, Biden still trailed Trump by one point.

According to polls, both Trump and Harris are seen as unfavorable, with 51% favoring the Republican candidate and 49% favoring the vice president. Biden has the lowest approval rating of just 38%. However, polls show that Trump is the only candidate with a net positive job approval rating, while both Harris and Biden are negative. Half of voters, 50%, support Trump, compared to 45% who support Harris and just 41% who support Biden.

The AARP poll surveyed 1,398 likely voters across Pennsylvania from Sept. 17 to Sept. 24 and had a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
