Fox to Launch New Streaming Service “Fox One”
Fox Corporation has announced its new streaming service, Fox One, set to officially debut on August 21. This platform will unify various popular TV brands into one accessible site for a monthly fee of $19.99.
Lachlan Murdoch, Fox Corporation’s executive chair and CEO, revealed this during a revenue call. He mentioned that Fox One aims to cater to those without traditional cable, although current Pay TV subscribers will have a separate way to access it.
Fox One promises live streaming and on-demand content from all major Fox brands, which include Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Weather, Fox Sports, FS1, FS2, BTN (Big Ten Network), Fox Deportes, and local Fox stations among others.
The service offers flexibility in pricing, letting users either pay monthly or opt for an annual subscription. For those interested, there’s also a combined option with Fox Nation available at a slight discount with yearly plans.
Murdoch hinted at the innovative technology behind the service. He described the user interface as highly customizable, suggesting it would utilize advanced technology for a distinct experience. Additionally, AI-powered personalization is touted to enhance user engagement by seamlessly merging live and video-on-demand content.
Alongside live news broadcasts, users can look forward to a variety of on-demand programming, including movies, TV shows, and podcasts—all part of Fox Entertainment’s lineup. The streaming service will be available on a wide range of platforms, such as iOS, Android, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, LG, Samsung, Xbox, and various web browsers.
