A new ad for former President Trump’s campaign seeks to portray Vice President Harris as the face of “Bidenomics.”
The advertisement lasts about one minute. Trump posted A video posted to her Truth Social account on Friday includes a clip of Harris referring to “Bidenomics,” and concludes with the sentence, “Harris owns ‘Bidenomics’ and he made it happen.”
“Kamala Harris Owns Bidennomics,” Trump captioned the ad-supported Truth Social post.
President Biden has used the slogan “Bidenomics” to highlight his administration’s efforts to revive the economy.
“The simple truth about trickle-down economics is that it has never represented the best of American capitalism, much less America,” Biden said last June. “It represented a moment when we moved away from the way this country, this city, was built. Biden Economics is about the future.”
Harris became the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination after Biden dropped out of the race over the weekend. She quickly garnered endorsements from key figures in the party and raised a lot of money in the days after Biden’s withdrawal.
According to a national poll conducted by The Hill/Decision Desk, Harris’ approval rating is 45.7%, 2.1 points below former President Trump’s 45.8%.
On Thursday, Harris released her first presidential campaign video, titled “We Choose Freedom,” set to the soundtrack of Beyonce’s song “Freedom.”
“Not just the freedom to survive, but the freedom to thrive. The freedom to protect ourselves from gun violence. The freedom to make decisions about our own bodies. We choose a future where no child lives in poverty and where everyone has access to health care,” Harris said.
