Olivia Nuzzi, New York magazine's Washington correspondent, has been placed on administrative leave following allegations that she had an affair with former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
News of the pair's romantic relationship was first reported by STATUS News.
“Nuzzi admitted to our editors that while covering the 2024 election, he had a personal relationship with a former subject related to the election, a violation of our standards regarding conflicts of interest and disclosure,” the magazine said in a statement.
The outlet said that if the magazine had known about their relationship, its reporters would have been barred from covering the presidential election.
“An internal review of her published article found no evidence of inaccuracy or bias. She is now on leave from the magazine while the magazine conducts a more thorough, independent investigation.”
The magazine added that it “regrets having betrayed the trust of our readers.”
The Washington Post has reached out to Kennedy's team for comment.
