New York Rangers tickets for 2025-26: Schedule, costs, and dates

The rebuilding phase has officially begun for the New York Rangers.

After a tough and ultimately disappointing 2024-2025 season with a record of 39-36-7, the organization underwent significant changes during the offseason.

To start, they parted ways with head coach Peter Laviolette. Shortly after, they traded star winger Chris Kreider to the Anaheim Ducks, reuniting him with former captain Jacob Truba.

Taking over as the new head coach is Mike Sullivan, who previously led the Pittsburgh Penguins. His first season with the Rangers saw them finish with a 34-36-12 record. Interestingly, Sullivan was drafted by the Rangers back in 1987 but opted to spend another year at Boston University before entering the NHL.

This offseason, the Rangers also signed prominent defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov to a substantial seven-year, $49 million contract. He’ll join new teammates Derrick Pouliot, Trey Fix-Wolansky, and Justin Dowling, alongside established players like Vincent Trocheck, Igor Shesterkin, Artemi Panarin, Adam Fox, and Mika Zibanejad on the ice.

The regular season kicks off with a matchup against Sullivan’s former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, at Madison Square Garden on October 7.

Other notable upcoming games include encounters with Alexander Ovechkin’s Washington Capitals (October 12), and Conor McDavid’s Edmonton Oilers (October 14). Fans can also look forward to a clash against the Carolina Hurricanes on November 4 and a showdown with the Dallas Stars on December 2. And don’t miss the return of Kreider and Truba when they face off against the Ducks on December 15.

The Rangers will also host the New Jersey Devils twice, with games scheduled for March 18 and March 31 in 2026.

Looking beyond their home ice, Sullivan’s squad will face the Florida Panthers, the defending Stanley Cup champions, during the NHL Winter Classic in Miami on January 2. Additionally, they will meet Aleksander Barkov’s team at MSG on March 29.

According to an analysis of the schedule, the front-loaded season features the first half packed with 41 games on the road. The second half will include a crucial seven-game homestand from late March to early April. The road to returning to Stanley Cup contention is clearly outlined for the Rangers, with familiar faces leading the way.

For fans looking to catch these games live, tickets are available for purchase at various outlets. Just keep in mind that prices may vary based on demand.

About the New York Rangers 2024-25 Season

In the 2023-24 season, the Rangers had an impressive record of 55-23-4 but fell short in the Eastern Conference Championship Series against the eventual Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers.

Last season was a different story, though. After starting strong with a 12-4-1 record, the team hit a rough patch, ending up last in the Metropolitan Division with a disheartening 4-15-0 stretch. Unfortunately, they missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2020-21 season.
