Viewership for news media coverage of the presidential election on Tuesday night was down 26 percent compared to 2020.
Hey.
This is such a significant drop that the excuses offered by the usual suspects don't make sense.
During the viewing period, 18 networks, specifically ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CW, Merit Street Media, Scripps News, Telemundo, Univision, CNBC, CNN, CNNe, FOX News Channel, FOX from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m. ET on Approximate Business Network, MSNBC, Newsmax, NewsNation, PBS.” report extreme left variety“The overall rating for the night was 13.3, with approximately 28.45 million households.”
“This is a significant decrease from the network's coverage in 2020, which drew an estimated 56.9 million viewers, representing a decrease of approximately 26%.”
and we arrive at my place favorite part:
There is no doubt that many factors contributed to this decline, including the fact that large parts of the population remained under lockdown during the 2020 election period due to the coronavirus.
You know, when it's convenient for the left, the pandemic is said to have increased TV viewership. But when ratings for the Oscars, Emmys and other Hollywood awards shows hit rock bottom, they were told that fewer viewers were due to the pandemic.
Let me tell you what I think happened. This is just one man's opinion.
Flashback: Fake news freakout! Left-wing media hoaxes about President Trump's “bloody” comments… What did Trump actually say?
Viewership for news media coverage of the presidential election on Tuesday night was down 26 percent compared to 2020.
I don't usually work for a living. I am a semi-retired part-time worker. But on Election Day, I work for a living. I'll be there during that time. On Tuesday, I put in a 20-hour day and loved every minute of it, especially as all of Donald Trump's enemies got their faces dirty and walked away.
Now, in order to work on election day and night, I needed to know what the hell was going on, so for the first time in 40 years of watching election results, I didn't turn on the TV. why? There are a few reasons why… 1) I hate almost everyone on TV, 2) the news media lies, reports, and makes everything about them, and 3) I miss something. I was worried that it might.
In terms of work, the third reason was the most important, but even if I had a night off, it would have been the most important. I want accurate information as soon as possible, whether I am working or not. So where did I spend the night? On Xwitter. Everything I wanted was on Xwitter. Not only were the results fast and furious, but so too was something that corporate media had long avoided: context.
When I wanted to see what the campaign was like and behind the scenes, I tuned in to Mark Halperin's online show.
Also, during this election period, I hand-picked a few data-driven Xwitter accounts that I trusted and followed them on Election Day.
I'm sure I wasn't the only one, and many others who tuned in to the news networks barely saw them update their various social media accounts. No doubt millions of people were listening to the podcast.
As I wrote on Wednesday, we the people are now the media.
