DHS Responds to Claims About ICE Raid Involving Chief
On Friday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) addressed claims made by the Los Angeles local news outlet KTLA5 regarding DHS Chief Kristi Noem’s alleged involvement in an ICE operation targeting a pregnant woman in Huntington Park.
According to reports, on Thursday morning at 6 AM, Sabrina Medina, a U.S. citizen and mother of four, found her home surrounded by ICE agents while she was showering. Following this incident, DHS took to social media to clarify the situation, stating, “Fake News. In this house, an illegal foreigner from Mexico who had been deported previously.”
Medina, who expressed her fear during the event, was involved in the situation, as revealed by a DHS post about her husband, David Garcia, who has a criminal record for drug trafficking and assault.
Fox News reporter Bill Melugin commented on the situation, stating that the raid actually targeted Garcia, who had been convicted of drug trafficking, rather than focusing on Medina, highlighting that there was no intent to harm a “pregnant mother.”

Melugin also remarked that ICE had a warrant signed by a federal judge for Garcia’s arrest, asserting that KTLA5 focused solely on Medina’s perspective without providing complete context regarding Garcia’s past. Eventually, KTLA5 issued an update to the article, acknowledging the intended target of the raid.
Despite the update, it’s worth noting that Garcia’s name was only mentioned later in the article. Noem made a comment regarding Huntington Park during a press conference, where she faced interruptions when California Sen. Alex Padilla criticized the Trump administration’s immigration policies, particularly the ICE operations.
