Mr. Newsom (D-Calif.) appeared on Saturday's podcast episode, “Pod Save America,” in which he gave responsibility to local leaders and his team, rather than taking responsibility as California's governor. It seemed like he was forcing himself on me.
“So, I'm the governor of California, so I want to know the answer. I don't know how many people ask me, 'What happened?' – On my team, we asked, “What happened?'' …Frankly, we didn't have a clear answer,'' Newsom said.
Co-host Jon Favreau said one of his “close friends” whose house was destroyed in the fire was “just trying to shift the blame” because Newsom is “ultimately responsible” for the Golden State. ”, he said, hitting back at Newsom.
In response, Newsom doubled down on his initial comments while acknowledging that the response was subpar.
“We got our team to start talking to local leaders and saying, 'What's going on?'” Newsom continued. “I got a different answer.”
“And to me, that's not the case. When I start getting different answers, I don't understand the real story,” he added.
Newsom's comments come as Los Angeles residents criticize the state's liberal leaders for their slow response and precautions.

“Governor Gavin Newscome will allow millions of gallons of water from excess rain and snowmelt from the north to flow daily into many areas of California, including areas currently on fire. , in a virtually apocalyptic manner, refused to sign the Water Restoration Declaration submitted before him. He wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called smelt by giving them less water (it didn't work!), but he didn't care about the people of California. Now the ultimate price is being paid,” President Trump wrote at the beginning of the fire.
“Fires are still raging in Los Angeles. Incompetent police don't know how to put them out. Thousands of great homes are gone, and many more will soon be gone. There is death everywhere. This is one of the worst disasters in our nation's history. They just can't put out the fire.” Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Saturday. added.
Newsom hits back at Trump during podcast episode, blaming the following 47 peopleth A president who spread misinformation “in a very humiliating and harmful way.”
“It's a word. It's a salad. It's a mist shape and substance. It's a finished product. It's a delusion, and it's something that President Trump has consistently advocated for years and years and years, and it's something that's been said within the right wing. It’s been reinforced over and over again,” Newsom said.
