The 2025 NFL Draft season will be high gear this week as the sport's biggest name descends to Indianapolis for the scouting combine.
One of the most attractive prospects across the draft field, Colorado quarterback Shedure Sanders has decided to focus on meetings with the team this week.
According to NFL Network Insider Ian RapoportSanders doesn't throw it at the combine, focusing on meetings with the team while in Indianapolis. Sanders throws it to the team on a Colorado pro day that has not yet been scheduled. Colorado prospects chose to focus on meetings with the team while not participating in the practice or the game itself, approaching the match at Toshiba Shrine in a similar way.
Sanders' decision coincides with other top quarterbacks in the recent draft class. For example, last year, Caleb Williams, Drake May and Jaden Daniels all chose not to throw them into Indianapolis and instead decided to train their own Pro Days.
That was the first three picks of the 2024 NFL Draft while Bo Nix, JJ McCarthy and Michael Penix Jr. opened the door to show off their NFL scouting arms for Indianapolis.
All six of these quarterbacks fell off the board in the first round of last spring.
Throwing Indianapolis brings a bright light from the NFL rating world, and there's a certain amount of risk as each quarterback targets unfamiliar receivers. However, multiple seasons as a starter under his belt – and 1,803 university pass trials – The team already knows what Sanders can do as a passerby.
