The San Francisco 49ers will take on the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night as severe weather hits the New York area and Highmark Stadium is covered in snow.
As kickoff approached, fans did their best to shovel snow. Photos showed several people beginning the process of clearing snow from seats, walkways and the field.

The game was still scheduled to kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET.
“We're ready to play football,” the Bills wrote in “X.”
Lake-effect snow has fallen in western New York and south of Buffalo, with up to 3 feet of snow accumulating, officials said. fox weather.
A portion of Interstate 90 was forced to close as the storm moved across parts of Ohio and into Eric County, Pennsylvania.

New York State Department of Transportation personnel did their best to clear the road around Highmark Stadium.
“NYSDOT units have increased snow removal operations in and around the stadium on Route 20, Route 20A, Route 219, Route 5, and Route 179 since last night,” officials wrote to X. Remove vehicles quickly and ensure continuity of traffic.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul's office said an additional 1 to 2 feet of snow could accumulate in Western New York and 2 to 3 feet in upstate New York.
