NFL free agency’s 9 best remaining players still on the market, ranked

The first big wave of free agency is gone, with huge sums of money going to top-tier free agents. DT Christian Wilkins, QB Kirk Cousins, RB Saquon Barkley and WR Calvin Ridley all received large sums of money to change housing. As of now, most of the top free agents have been selected, but there are still some interesting names left on the market.

Here is a list of the nine best NFL free agents still available in 2024.

LT Tyrone Smith

To be honest, I’m a little surprised that former Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith hasn’t been scooped yet. Despite being at the top in terms of his age (33) and injury history, Smith played his best ball for Dallas last year and could be a big contributor for a team that needs a Super Bowl appearance next year. There is. The Chiefs are obviously the main contender here, but I’d also like to look at a team like the Rams in this case.

DT Aric Armstead

Armstead was made a surprise cut. 49ers After playing great football in San Francisco, their losses are the rest of the NFL’s profits. Armstead is still a very good three-technique defensive tackle who can provide a vertical push in the run and pass game and add to the ceiling of NFL defenses. He is best suited on a 4-down front where he can penetrate one gap; houston texans and tennessee titans.

S Justin Simmons

Simmons also made a surprise cut. denver broncos, and could definitely help NFL defenses. He is versatile, can play in the post or in the box, and is still producing at a very high level through multiple defensive shifts in Denver. Tennessee is also on board for Simmons, which would make a lot of sense.

LT Trent Brown

Despite playing in a moribund offense in New England, Brown has performed really well and will finally get a chance to be a contender. Brown is a very big guy who can move people around in the run game, but is light enough on his feet to translate into pass protection, making him worthy of a big contract in free agency. The Bears still have a lot of money and Brown could really improve his offense.

LB Devin White

White is a bit of an interesting case. He’s a very good linebacker in that particular role. Lavonte David handled most of Tampa Bay’s Green Dot abilities, allowing White to run and chase freely on the back side of the play. I don’t think he would cost that much for a team that wants to use a linebacker in the blitz game, but he could be worth a flyer for those teams. seattle seahawks.

S Julian Blackmon

Julian Blackmon had one of his best seasons, indianapolis colts, and now enters free agency at a very young age (25 years old) with a lot of room to grow. When healthy, Blackmon is an above-average safety with her two high shells, but health is an issue here.Probably the best team for him pittsburgh steelerswhere he was able to play opposite Minkah Fitzpatrick.

WR Mike Williams

When I was healthy, I used to charger WR Mike Williams is a great outside receiver who can win in almost any situation where the catch is contested. He has a good catch radius, and while he doesn’t have extreme long speed, he can rise past defenders. However, the concern here is the “when healthy” part. He wasn’t fully healthy and played in 16 games over two years. Makes a lot of sense here after the Patriots struck out Calvin Ridley.

EDGE Jadeveon Clowney

Clowney is coming off one year of his career. baltimore ravens, can help many teams who want to strengthen their play against the run. He is a hard charging run defender and can win with stunts and loops in the pass rush department. A return trip to Carolina might be the best fit for him.

WR Hollywood Brown

Hollywood Brown could be a great addition to a team that needs speed on offense. As a player who just needs to take the top off the defense, Brown’s speed would make him a dynamic threat to pair with players who already can win in the middle areas. He could be a good Robin to someone’s Batman…which sounds like exactly what the Chiefs need.
