It was a down year for the free agency offensive tackle market, and it got even smaller in December when the Broncos locked up Garrett Boles. The 2024 NFL Draft has several first-round prospects, which could further reduce the need for free agency in that position.
That being said, there are a few free agents to watch. We voted for a group of writers around SB Nation to gather consensus rankings on players. Although unanimous picks are not in the bundle as people value different WR characteristics, our group stands out in several defined layers.
Players will be removed from the list as they will re-sign with their current team until the opening of the free agency in March.
Others who are voted: Trenton Brown, Jaylon Moore, Dan Moore, Meki Becton, Cornelius Lucas, DJ Humphreys
7. Dylan Radonz of the Tennessee Titans
Former second pick, Radunz played both tackle and guard in the NFL. He spent the 2024 season at Tennessee's right guard, struggling free agency for the first time this offseason.
5t. Patrick Mekari, Baltimore Ravens
Mekari plays center, guard and tackle on both sides of the NFL and the line. I think that hurts him in the tackle rankings. He will turn 28 this offseason and if the team can find his permanent location, he will be able to grow into the role.
5t. Morgan Moses, New York Jets
Very experienced and extremely durable, Moses will be a solid addition to any offensive line if he continues to play at the age of 34 in 2025.
4. Alaric Jackson, Los Angeles Rams
Jackson has a rough past with flags for both medical and personal behavior. The former undrafted free agent was the main starter for the Rams for two seasons, playing both guard and left tackle. His first versatility would give him a great deal of contracts with some teams. Update: Jackson has re-signed with the Los Angeles Rams.
3. Minnesota Viking, Cam Robinson
In our vote, for Robinson, there was a huge range from the fourth on the two lists to outside the other top ten. In 2024 he refused to participate in the Jacksonville Jaguars game and was traded for the Minnesota Vikings. He quickly entered the starting lineup and had a really bad day. If he can get his head right, the previous second round picks are sometimes reliable, with a career start of 100 under his belt, only 29.
2. Ronnie Stanley, Baltimore Ravens
Stanley won the most number one vote in our poll, but there were also some broad variances. Former All-Pro Stanley played in all the Ravens games in 2024 after missing a fair amount of time in the past four seasons. He will be 31 when he attacked free agency, but could become a plug-and-go starter.
1. Tyrone Smith, New York Jets
The top consensus says something about the class when he was 34, and here we are. Smith received one of our number one votes and was second on everyone else's list. After spending 13 seasons with the Cowboys, Smith was injured several times in his year with the Jets.
Recently released offensive tackle
These offensive tackles were released after the rankings were compiled up until the 2025 league year.
George Fant
The Phant spent one season in Seattle and only played two games in a year after playing 16 games in Houston. He missed a good portion of 2022 on a jet for injuries. He turned 33 in July and was very inconsistent. You'd be surprised if someone relied on him in 2025.
