Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre stepped into the political world on Wednesday, making his position clear on who should have the right to vote in American elections.

Favre was referencing and responding to a post by X CEO Elon Musk. The billionaire was responding to the announcement of a lawsuit filed by the America First Legal Foundation against 15 Arizona counties to remove illegal immigrants from voter rolls.

The former Green Bay Packers star agreed.

“I support people who want a better life having the opportunity to become citizens the right way,” Favre wrote to X.

“But if you're not an American, you shouldn't vote. That's it.”

Favre made his support for former President Donald Trump clear when he was commander in chief and from the early days of the election season, but he has not identified himself as a Republican, Democrat or independent.

“I think our country would be better off with him in it…” he said in May 2023.
