NFL news: Xavier Worthy sues ex-fiancee over alleged extortion

He is now suing her after Xavier's worth avoided the charge of assault after being arrested on suspicion of assault on his ex-fiance.

Worthy was arrested in Texas earlier this month but managed to avoid charges, District Attorney Sean Dick said after speaking to multiple witnesses.

However, he filed a lawsuit against his ex-fiance, Tia Jones, claiming that she had stole over $150,000 in cash and property and assaulted him.

Jones argued that “planned to create a false narrative of domestic violence and to assassinate the plaintiff's character and reputation professionally and personally, extorting it into reports and forcing the plaintiff to have a house, money, a car and other valuables.”

“Detective Jones, instead of leaving and amicably separate, became furious, engaged in a series of abusive and urgent efforts, destroying his game room, including his gaming desk and console. [a PlayStation 5]and his Rolls-Royce key, “Read the lawsuit obtained by Fox News Digital.” Defendant Jones began physically attacking the plaintiff by scratching his face, tearing his hair area, causing pain and injuries. ”

Jones was granted a protective order by a Texas judge earlier this month.

“Jones chose to use her voice to speak for herself,” her lawyer, Angelica Colliano, said in a statement to the Associated Press. “In doing so, she looks forward to seeing the facts and circumstances of the night become clear through formal legal proceedings and getting the justice she deserves.”

Worthy, the 2024 first-round draft pick from Texas in the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl defeat last month, was arrested in Williamson County on charges of assaulting a family member or household member whose breath was blocked.

Details of the suspicious assault were not immediately known, but Worthy's attorney said in another statement that the allegations were made after a woman living in his home refused to leave when asked repeatedly.

She was said to have been asked to leave “at the time of her affair.”

The parties say they are working with the authorities through an ongoing investigation.

Fox News Digital reached out to the attorney who represented Jones when he was given a protective order.
