NFL Power Rankings for Week 14: Two AFC rivals pulling ahead

The remainder of the NFL season promises a lot of nail-biters.

As for who might come out on top? Well, that’s tough to pin down.

The Patriots and Broncos are creating a bit of distance from the crowd, but the middle tier has enough balanced teams to keep everything in question.

After all, we’ve got 17 teams with winning records and 20 over .500. It’s looking unpredictable.

The next five weeks will likely hinge on a few key moments, especially in those closing minutes of games.

This season has seen 49 games decided in the closing moments of regulation or overtime, marking the second-highest total in NFL history by Week 13.

Out of those, 24 victories came from scores that happened as time ran out, a remarkable stat for this point in the season.

Here’s how the Week 14 NFL Power Rankings shake out:

1. Patriots 11-2 (2)

The Patriots have transformed from their rough start with Mike Vrabel to a solid 10-game winning streak, recently securing a playoff spot after a win against the Giants. They seem well-prepared to weather injuries on the offensive line during their bye week as they aim for the AFC East title.

2. Broncos 10-2 (4)

Denver pulled off a dramatic 27-26 overtime win against the Commanders. Nick Bonitto made a pivotal play, while Bo Nix threw for 321 yards and connected with Courtland Sutton for a touchdown. RJ Harvey also contributed with two rushing touchdowns, making it a real nail-biter.

3. Rams 9-3 (1)

Matthew Stafford, a frontrunner for MVP, set a remarkable record with his 28th touchdown pass. However, the Rams fell short, losing 31-28 to the Panthers. It was a tough game, with two interceptions and a late fumble adding to the team’s woes.

4. Seahawks 9-3 (6)

Sam Darnold had his moment against the team that traded him, but it was really the Seahawks’ defense that shone in a 26-0 shutout of the Vikings. Max Brosmer was intercepted four times, which led to the team securing their first shutout since 2015.

5. Packers 8-3-1 (8)

With coach Matt LaFleur at the helm, Jordan Love tossed four touchdown passes in a first-half flurry against the Lions, sealing a 31-24 victory. The Packers showed resilience by converting three fourth-down plays into success.

6. Bears 9-3 (9)

Caleb Williams helped the Bears secure a 24-15 win over the Eagles, benefiting from a solid rushing combo with Kyle Monangai and D’Andre Swift each gathering over 100 yards. This marked a long-awaited return to glory with a winning season for the Bears.

7. Bills 8-4 (10)

Josh Allen set a personal record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, leading the Bills to a decisive 26-7 victory over the Steelers. An outstanding performance by James Cook added to their success, while the defense stepped up with key takeaways.

8. 49ers 9-4 (11)

The 49ers rallied for the final 19 points to beat the Browns 26-8, marking their first win in Cleveland in decades. Their touchdowns came from strategic drives set up by turnovers and a solid special teams effort.

9. Colts 8-4 (3)

Concerns are growing about a potential decline for the Colts. Daniel Jones, despite a tough game, managed to throw two touchdowns, yet the team dropped a close match to the Texans that raised eyebrows.

10. Eagles 8-4 (5)

In a rough loss against the Bears, the Eagles’ defense allowed an unexpected 281 rushing yards. AJ Brown had a good game, catching two touchdowns, but ultimately the team’s performance left much to be desired.

11. Jaguars 8-4 (12)

12. Chargers 8-4 (13)

13. Lions 7-5 (7)

14. Buccaneers 7-5 (14)

15. Texans 7-5 (17)

22. Bengals 4-8 (25)

23. Falcons 4-8 (22)

24. Vikings 4-8 (23)

25. Jets 3-9 (29)

Nick Folk had a redemption moment, nailing a 56-yard field goal to secure a comeback win against the Falcons. Adonai Mitchell also shone with eight receptions and a touchdown, making it a memorable day for the Jets.

26. Cardinals 3-9 (24)

27. Commanders 3-9 (26)

28. Browns 3-9 (27)

29. Saints 2-10 (30)

30. Giants 2-11 (28)

After losing to the Patriots, the Giants slid further down, now 0-3 since parting ways with their head coach. Their record of 2-11 is disheartening for fans, but there seems to be a hint of hope with changes in management.

31. Raiders 2-10 (31)

32. Titans 1-11 (32)
