The NFL Players Association released a story about Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Kyle Van Noy calling the Kansas City Chiefs' medical staff “extremely unprofessional” in treating his fractured orbital bone suffered in Week 1.
Van Noy's injury occurred in the NFL's season opener at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, with the 33-year-old forced to leave the game in the second half with a facial fracture.
The veteran defenseman later said on his “McCoy and Van Noy” podcast that it took nearly a quarter for the Chiefs' eye doctor to come in to examine him.

“I was disappointed in the way the Chiefs training staff handled this situation,” he explained. “When you have an injury, especially a serious injury like mine was, you have to rely on your team's training staff and doctors.”
NFLPA Executive Director Lloyd Howell visited the Ravens on Thursday to meet with Van Noy and called the situation “unfortunate.”

“I think it was an unfortunate situation that didn't happen,” Howell said of Van Noy's swift medical treatment. From ESPN“I appreciate Kyle's situation. [that] “It wasn't bad, but we just finished the first game of the season and there are still a lot of games to go. We can't allow that.”
Howell added that the NFLPA “conducted an investigation” and “communicated the necessary areas for improvement.”

Howell said that under the collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and the NFLPA, treatment for injured visiting players is expected to be expedited.
It's worth noting that the Chiefs' training staff has not been well received since Kansas City players expressed dissatisfaction with them in the league's annual player survey.
The Chiefs' training staff received an “F” grade, the worst in the league.
