Nicki Minaj Shares Political Awakening Inspired by Trump
Nicki Minaj recently expressed her admiration for President Trump, indicating that he helped her step outside her comfort zone.
In a clip from Katie Miller’s podcast, Minaj described feeling “unbearable” frustration watching Trump face public criticism. She said, “Religious freedom is very important to me,” and added, “Honestly, it was tough to see how he was treated repeatedly; it bothers me.”
Minaj reflected on the mistreatment she sensed Trump endured during his campaign, noting, “For years, I saw it happen to others, but I didn’t think he deserved it, which made me realize that I couldn’t stay silent any longer.”
The rapper and Trump made waves recently when they were spotted holding hands at the Trump Accounts Summit, and she referred to herself as his “biggest fan” on social media.
During the podcast, Minaj acknowledged that her political interests aren’t so new. “I think people are aligned,” she remarked. “Even as a child, I had this feeling that I had a second job—mind you, this was long before I found success in music.”
Minaj candidly stated that she still feels that urge to contribute beyond her career in entertainment, marking her entry into politics. She recalled texting someone during the last presidential campaign saying, “This is wrong,” sparking her desire to engage more actively.
She continued, “I found myself thinking about how easy it could be to get involved. If these conditions exist, maybe I should step in.” However, she later mentioned a specific incident that pushed her towards political action, which she was hesitant to detail. “Sometimes people push you to your next mission, and that’s what happened for me,” she shared.
Miller’s complete interview with Minaj is set to air on various platforms on Tuesday, February 3rd, at 6 PM ET.
