Nicole Kidman’s Divorce Comments Go Viral
Nicole Kidman’s six-word remark about her divorce from Tom Cruise has captured attention once again, particularly after her recent split from Keith Urban.
In a memorable appearance on “Late Show with David Letterman” back on August 2, 2001, Kidman was amid a high-profile divorce from Cruise when Letterman opened the interview with somewhat lackluster questions. “I heard you’re divorced, what do you think?” he asked. Kidman chuckled, acknowledging the frequent inquiries she received about her breakup.
She then delivered a lighthearted response that delighted the audience: “Well, I can wear my heels now.” This playful comment has continued to resonate with fans over the years.
While promoting her horror film “The Others,” she showed that despite the tough times, she could maintain humor. Letterman and Kidman exchanged playful banter, and when she replied, “Things are fine. It’s fine,” she cheekily turned it back to him, asking, “How was your divorce?”
Recently, a clip of this 2001 interview resurfaced in light of news regarding Kidman’s separation from Urban after 19 years of marriage.
On September 30, Kidman filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” According to court documents, she listed the separation date as the same day and has requested to be designated as the primary custodian of their two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
Just days after the announcement, Urban returned to the spotlight, performing in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Interestingly, he altered the lyrics of his song “The Fighter,” which was originally written with Kidman in mind, during a recent concert.
In a notable moment from his show on October 2, Urban shared a photo slideshow accompanying his performance of “Heart Like A Hometown,” featuring images of Kidman and their children, even amid news of their divorce.
