MSNBC Anchor Expresses Anguish Over Trump’s Deportation Actions

On a podcast this Tuesday, MSNBC anchor Nicole Wallace voiced her deep distress regarding President Donald Trump’s decision to deport illegal immigrant gang members to an El Salvador prison. This policy was enacted by the Trump administration back in March, which arranged for two planes to transport members of the Tren de Aragua (TDA).

During the discussion with host Tim Miller, Wallace was asked about her fears related to Trump. She responded with “All,” before delving into the emotional impact she felt upon hearing news of the deportations. She mentioned her reaction: “I remember the first day. I remember reading about the deportation of Tren de Aragua members to El Salvador. And I remember saying… ‘I wish I could feel so mad. And I want to stop thinking about these people being scared in El Salvador.'” She felt particularly frustrated after seeing an advertisement from Homeland Security regarding deportations.

Wallace reflected on her feelings, stating, “I think it can scare you out of how painful they feel about how they treat people. But if you abandon your anguish, you will do something terrifying to humans… I’m scared of how much it bothers me – so many people suffer.”

She also discussed another troubling event during the podcast, calling the forced removal of Senator Alex Padilla from a June 12 press conference with Homeland Security Secretary Christa Noem “one of the darkest days” of her anchoring career.

Trump’s administration designated cartels and crime gangs like the TDA as foreign terrorist organizations on his first day in office. El Salvador’s President, Nayib Bukele, confirmed that his country received 238 TDA members and 23 MS-13 members on the same day they were sent by the Trump administration.

In April, the Trump administration released a report that included a list of foreign criminals, including one convicted of rape, whom it had deported to El Salvador.
