Nikki Haley announced Monday that she will join the Hudson Institute, a conservative foreign policy think tank, as its Walter P. Stern Chair.
The former South Carolina governor withdrew from the Republican presidential primary last month after failing to gain enough momentum against rival Donald Trump after Super Tuesday, where he won nearly every race.
During his 2024 presidential bid, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations will emphasize the importance of America’s alliances with Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, and use his position in Hudson to guide other policymakers. He said this would further his foreign policy goals.
“The world becomes less secure when policymakers blame our enemies or fail to acknowledge the importance of our alliances. That’s why Ms. Hudson’s work is so important,” Haley said in a statement. .

The Walter P. Stern Chair Program was launched in 2020 to honor former Hudson Chairman Walter “Wally” Stern, who played a key role in building the Hudson Institute into a prominent foreign policy organization. .

Haley kept a low profile in the month following her withdrawal from the race, saying she was spending time with her family and considering her next steps.
In her farewell speech during the primary, she challenged Trump to persuade his supporters, but stopped short of endorsing him.
