Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s South Carolina home was “raided” last month after someone filed a false police report, Reuters reported.
Officials responded to Haley’s home on Kiawah Island on Dec. 30 after a man allegedly shot the woman and threatened to harm himself, according to town records obtained by the news agency.
Haley’s campaign did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
The previously unreported “swatting” incident came to light after Reuters requested records about threats made to Haley’s home.

Kiawah Island Public Safety Director Craig Harris told town officials that an unknown person called 911 and “claimed that Nikki Haley had shot his girlfriend and threatened to harm himself while staying at his residence.” he said in an email.
“It turns out to be a hoax…Nikki Haley is not on the island, but so is her son,” the email said, according to Reuters.

Harris said in an email that he has been in contact with the South Carolina State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the head of Haley’s security team. “This incident remains under investigation by all involved,” he wrote. According to Reuters, the email did not mention any suspects or potential motives.
In a separate email, South Carolina FBI officials told Harris and other law enforcement officials that federal agents were tracking the hoax call and had begun a “threat assessment” in the case, according to the report. I told him I was going to do it.
Law enforcement has not released any suspects in the Haley case.

Other targets include the judge overseeing the case against Trump and at least one prosecutor.
