A New Jersey animal shelter is asking cat lovers to name their stray cats after their exes and have them spayed or neutered on Valentine’s Day.

Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center in Gloucester Township, New Jersey, announced in a historic promotion, “Neuter your ex on Valentine’s Day.”

The cost to fight back against your ex is $50.

“Your donation will enable us to provide low-cost spay and neuter services for community cats and the parents who need their care,” he added.

Homeward Bound isn’t the first animal shelter to use Valentine’s Day as a fundraiser or vent for those unlucky in love.

The San Antonio Zoo has announced that in exchange for a donation, they will name a cockroach after your ex-lover and feed the animal. According to CNN.

In 2021, the Lexington Kentucky Humane Society announced that for $10 you can have your cat’s name written on the litter box where they relieve themselves.

For $5, a Rhode Island SPCA cat will also poop on your ex’s name.
