NJ Woman Accused of Jumping into Tiger’s Den, Charged

They got a bite at this crime.

New Jersey State Police arrested a zoo visitor last week after he dared jump a fence, got frighteningly close to a Siberian tiger and attempted to bite a woman’s hand.

According to Bridgeton police, 24-year-old Zaire Dennis is facing two city ordinance violations as well as a felony count of trespassing after he allegedly climbed over a fence at the Cohansic Zoo and reached into the tiger enclosure. said in a statement on Monday..

Police last week released footage of Dennis’s shocking behaviour on August 18.

After sniffing it, perhaps out of curiosity, the tiger lunged at the woman and attempted to bite her hand, but she quickly pulled her hand away, then briefly extended it again.

Then she walks away slowly and jumps back over the wooden fence.

Police said they also have video that allegedly shows her engaging in similar activities that day in a bear cage that was next to the tiger cage.

The group called on anyone with information about the whereabouts of those displaced to submit an anonymous tip through its website.

Police say the suspect is scheduled to appear in Bridgeton Municipal Court on a date to be determined.
