The University of North Carolina continues to be a thorn in Michigan State’s side.
The Tar Heels won 85-69 in the second round on Saturday, making them 7-0 against the Spartans in March Madness play.
The Spartans led 26-14 with 9:40 left in the first half, but UNC responded with a 29-5 run to force the second half and put the Tar Heels up by 12 points.

However, the inferior team did not die and went on a 15-5 run to come back and narrow the gap to 2 points.
UNC eventually got back up to seven points quickly, but the Spartans cut it to five with 8:10 left. But there’s a reason the Tar Heels are the No. 1 seed.
Over the next five minutes, the Tar Heels went on a 14-2 run to take their largest lead of the night, 17 points, but Michigan State never got close again.
UNC’s Harrison Ingram finished with 17 points and seven rebounds on 5-of-7 shooting from long range. RJ Davis (20) and Cormac Ryan (14) made five of 12 total 3-point attempts, and Armando Bacot dropped 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Gonzaga dominated in the second half against Kansas and reached the Sweet 16 with nine straight wins.
UNC is currently 13-4 in all-time series between college basketball powerhouses.
The Tar Heels will face the winner of No. 4 Alabama and No. 12 Grand Canyon, who play on Sunday.
